The Daily WAR (#0526)

THE HOLY ROMAN ...

"Today I wish to recall again different moments of the pastoral trip that the Lord allowed me to undertake last week to Bavaria. ... I again confirmed (my trip's) main purpose: to propose again to my fellow countrymen the eternal truths of the Gospel and to confirm believers in adherence to Christ, Son of God incarnated, dead and risen for us.

[WAR: This quote is from the last sentence of the 8th paragraph in this article. And it shows how they - and the Jews - rightly reject the false and pagan concept of "God in the flesh" and a god-man - of Yahshua being "fully God and fully man"!! While the Muslims and Jews rightly reject the false Messiah of Christianity, they still fall short by not realizing who He really was and where He came from.
And as it mentions the incarnation and trinity together, so should YOU reject them both - because these doctrines are irrevocably linked together. You can NOT believe in one and not the other! So for all you fellow COGgers out there who boast about rejecting the trinity yet cling to the equally evil doctrine of the incarnation, you had better repent, "discern His body" correctly and quit following the doctrine of the Antichrist!!]

Cardinal Raffaele Martino, president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, has written an in-depth article on Benedict XVI's recent speeches in Bavaria.

"What should he apologize for? There is freedom of speech, and what he said is objectively true."

The West, says the pope, pursues reason without faith – and Westerners failed to riot. But when the pope accuses Islam of pursuing faith without reason – Islamo-fascists demand an apology ... or else.

The official publications of the Bishops’ Conference of Italy, as well as several local Italian political officials, have strongly criticized the leaders of western nations for the silence regarding the threats and insults that have been leveled against Pope Benedict XVI by Muslims.
[WAR: Ah, but who did stand-up and defend B16? Merkel and Stoiber!!]

Pope Benedict XVI is “less diplomacy and more Gospel,” says journalist and Vatican expert Sandro Magister in a Sept. 18 column, titled “Islam’s unreasonable war against Benedict XVI”.

Benedict XVI's first year record is mixed. In early March 2006, he puzzled the world by quietly dropping one of his nine titles, "Patriarch of the West," held by popes since 642. It reasserts the Pope's claim to authority over the entire church, East and West.

... EMPIRE OF THE GERMAN NATION

German Navy warships will set sail for the Mediterranean on Thursday, after Parliament voted Wednesday to send up to 2,400 service members to patrol the coastal waters off Lebanon, in this country's first military engagement in the Middle East since World War II.

EUROPE/RUSSIA

Perhaps the most troubling aspect of the crisis is that the real debate initiated by Benedict seems to have eluded most commentators.

Major powers on Wednesday authorized a U.N. mediator to propose a final status plan for Kosovo and to achieve a settlement by the end of this year that they said neither side could block unilaterally.

MIDEAST/AFRICA/ASIA

While most of the reporting and analysis of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's speech at the U.N. focused on what he had to say about the West and specifically the U.S., his chilling closing remarks were lost on most listeners – and apparently all reporters.

The Israeli foreign minister on Wednesday warned that Iranian leaders pose the biggest threat to the world's values because they "speak proudly" of their wish to destroy Israel and pursue weapons to achieve that objective.

The major powers have given Iran a new deadline of early October to suspend uranium enrichment and begin negotiations on a package of rewards for stepping back from a nuclear showdown.

There’s a strong economic incentive behind the U.N. Security Council and Germany’s opposition to American calls for sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program — billions of dollars in trade. Germany is Iran’s largest supplier of foreign goods, with $5.4 billion in exports last year. Iran buys German steel, and automaker DaimlerChrysler is planning a Mercedes-Benz plant in Iran.

Well, the summer is over. Diplomacy was given a chance, and it now seems that the diplomatic activity of the past several months was just a pretext for the military option.

Arab commentators have dismissed US President George W. Bush's appeal for democracy directly to the people of the region as a patronising and doomed effort to give a new face to Washington's reviled policies.

HOUSE OF ISRAEL

Text of Chavez speech at U.N. where Venezuelan dictator calls Bush 'the devil'.

It is, frankly, embarrassing to have to listen to an American president utter such nonsense aloud on the world stage, all the while preening and lecturing the assembled delegates as if he were some sort of Universal Hegemon, the Emperor of the Earth. If you're an American, the overweening arrogance of Bush's act is breathtakingly painful to watch. One dares not imagine how the rest of the world takes it.

The warning from an al-Qaida field commander in Afghanistan calling for Muslims to leave the U.S. – particularly Washington and New York – in anticipation of a major terror attack to rival Sept. 11, should be taken seriously says the Pakistani journalist who interviewed Abu Dawood.

In the past century, enrollment in the group has plunged in both Europe, where it was once a huge threat to Catholicism, and the U.S., which now has over half of the world's Masons (despite the closing of its halls in many cities).

ECONOMY

The U.S. dollar is the very heart of the empire. It’s the cornerstone upon which the military, the media and the political establishment rests. The supremacy of the dollar depends almost entirely on the oil trade. Foreign countries must maintain large stockpiles of US dollars in order to meet their energy needs.
Many believe that we are fighting in Iraq to defend dollar-hegemony. Similarly, the war drums have been beating ferociously since Iran announced the opening of its oil bourse which would trade oil in euros rather than dollars. Putin and Chavez have also fallen from grace with Washington since they’ve shown an eagerness to ditch the dollar and sell oil in either euros or rubles.

The other day, we suggested that an implosion might be awaiting the hedge fund industry...and today, we see that, indeed, an implosion – and a ripe one – has already occurred.

Secretary General Kofi Annan delivered his final address to the United Nations General Assembly before he retires at the end of the year.  During the speech, Annan said, “insensitivity towards other people’s beliefs or sacred symbols - intentional or otherwise - is seized upon by those who seem eager to foment a new war of religion on a global scale.”
