Survivors of the "Great Flood"? (no link)
"Atum ... was called upon to destroy this first home of mankind ... with a Great Flood, from which the immortals and a few chosen men escaped to eventually land at the Nile Delta, where they sparked "Pharaonic Civilization." ("In the Shadow of Atlantis"; Atlantis Rising #60)
[WAR: Through the years, in my study of the calendar issue and other related "outside-the-box" issues, there was always comparisons to the flood in Genesis 6 and the ones mentioned in other ancient myths/legends - but the dates just didn't match up, with Noah's Flood being much later in time. I became convinced that these ancient myths/legends were actually accounts of the First Flood - the one mentioned in Genesis 1:2, where "the Earth became formless and an undistinguishable ruin, and darkness covered the deep water."
I could square the fact that The Pyramids and Sphinx (along with other very ancient structures around the world) were remnants of the pre-Adamic world. But, I couldn't square the ancient myths/legends accounts of survivors with the Bible - and a number of "uh-oh" questions lingered around in my noodle. But after I read the above quote, it finally hit me - one of those "Well, duh!" moments: The Bible doesn't specifically indicate that there were not any survivors from the flooding of the pre-Adamic world - and there's huge possibility in that silence!!
What if there were some actual survivors? If so, that would answer the tricky question about where Cain's wife came from, and also clear-up the understanding of the mysterious "sons of elohim" rolling-in-the-hay with the "daughters of Adam" and producing the Nephilim. Did the rebelling angels (elohim) create their own "sons" - humanoids in the quasi-likeness of ELOHIM (the remains of which have been discovered and used in the theory of evolution)? Did these demons create an image of God in order for these creatures to bow-down to, and worship, the demons as their creators? (But humans are the opposite: we create images and bow-down to them!) Think about this, and give me some feedback . . . ]
