The Daily WAR (#03-22)

Benedict XVI's apostolic letter concerning the Roman Missal promulgated by John XXIII in 1962, will not reinstate a prayer for the conversion of "perfidious Jews." The Vatican press office announced today the Pope's letter issued "motu proprio," on his own initiative, is titled "Summorum Pontificum," and will be released Saturday at noon, accompanied by an explanatory letter.

Angela Merkel is preparing to perform a major U-turn by scrapping plans to abandon nuclear power. The move would bring Berlin into line with many of its European neighbours, who are investing heavily in new and existing sources of atomic energy, but puts Merkel on a collision course with the country's powerful green lobby and her coalition partners.

The layers of spin and deceit that surround this wretched EU treaty are so convoluted that it takes some working out to disentangle the contradictions, U-turns and straight lies it has come to involve. The fundamental problem is that the EU's leaders are determined to foist on the peoples of Europe the final components of a supranational government, as agreed in their constitution, without giving the peoples of Europe any say in the matter.

Of the new French president's stream of foreign policy initiatives - from a simplified European constitution to a UN-African force for Darfur - perhaps none is more appealing, or unlikely, than Nicolas Sarkozy's call for an EU-style Mediterranean Union. Sarkozy's Mediterranean Union, if it materializes at all, likely won't fulfill his grand vision of turning the region into a "space for a great dream of peace and civilization." But focusing on creating prosperity - rather than democracy - could be the world's last best hope for a long-troubled region.

Experts say if the outcome of Iran-IAEA talks is positive, the UN Security Council will not issue new resolutions against the Islamic Republic.

Russian Military Analysts are reporting today that this past weeks 'Sudden-Summit' between Presidents Putin and Bush in the US has 'narrowly averted an American nuclear Armageddon' in which the Americans were planning a massive atomic strike upon Iran. Putin was advised immediately prior to the 'Sudden-Summit' by Russian Military Commanders that the US had issued the orders for a nuclear strike on Iran, and which has been further confirmed by The Washington Times. Sadly though, it is acknowledged in these reports that Putin's 'warnings' to Bush this past week resulted in a delay only of the Americans planned attacks against Iran, and which Bush 'strongly suggested' that if Putin was concerned about Russian casualties in Iran perhaps they shouldn't be their in the first place. As the World continues its mad plunge towards the nuclear abyss, one can only wonder what could possibly stop this insanity from happening.

Irving Lewis "Scooter" Libby (Leibowitz) has been a long-serving intelligence agent for Israel's Mossad, according to a veteran CIA "official cover" officer. The CIA's Clandestine Service has, over the years, gathered a tremendous amount of intelligence on Libby's activities on behalf of Mossad. Libby not only provided the Mossad with a top agent inside the White House but also an important conduit for the Russian-Israeli Mafia.

Here's how I would put it today: our economy is on an artificial life-support system, a barely-breathing hostage in a lunatic asylum. That asylum is the US and world financial systems which are on the verge of collapse. The inmates are the world's central bankers, along with most of the financial magnates big and small. The fact is that the economy of much of the world is in a decisive downward slide which the financiers cannot stop because the systems they operate are the primary cause. As often happens, the inmates rule the asylum. The problems aren't confined to the US. Unemployment worldwide is increasing, debt is rampant, infrastructures are crumbling, and commodity prices are rising.

These problems have just begun. Americans are in a heap of trouble in real estate and those problems will spread to many other financial areas.

Home owners who have become mired in debt during America's growing housing crisis are falling prey to a booming new industry in "mortgage rescue" scams that end up depriving them of their properties permanently. The scams lure owners into signing over their deeds to a temporary purchaser after being falsely assured that they will be able to buy the property back when their financial situation improves. Often the paperwork is so complicated that they do not realise they have surrendered ownership.

Asian experts are to discuss establishment of the "Asian Monetary Fund," the Director-General of the Asian Parliament Assembly said. He added the issue would be raised by Asian experts during a meeting scheduled to be held in Tehran on July 9-10.
