The Daily WAR (02-09)

Reading between the lines, and thinking outside the box . . .

Mikhail Gorbachev has categorically denied ordering the attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II in 1981. The Italian newspaper La Repubblica reports that Gorbachev wrote to German foreign-policy analyst Werner Kaltefleiter in 2006, specifically denying that he was involved in the attempt on the Pope's life. La Repubblica claims to have a copy of Gorbachev's letter.
[WAR: It's my contention that Bush Sr. was somehow involved. "They" wanted Reagan and JP2 out of their way in order to fully implement their NWO plans. But it was not to be.]

The German economy surprised analysts with its stronger-than-expected performance in the 1Q of 2008. Official figures show it has had its biggest growth spurt in almost 12 years.

Islamic terrorism is the greatest threat to the security and stability of Germany, Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said in Berlin today.

China will officially protest the planned meeting between Germany's Development Minister and the Dalai Lama. "We are opposed to a member of the German government receiving the Dalai Lama and Germany even letting him enter the country."

Al Qaeda is planning to attack the Euro 2008 football championships in Switzerland and Austria in June, Swiss police say. "The Euro 2008 tournament is a target cited by the Islamist terrorist network," federal police spokesman Juerg Buehler told Swiss newspaper La Liberte.
He said messages had been posted on Islamist websites and police were "following the situation very closely". One of the messages urges terrorists to "transform the safest countries in Europe to the hell seen in Iraq or Afghanistan".

The Kremlin rolled out the red carpet Wednesday for Germany's Foreign Minister, the first foreign official to hold talks with President Medvedev and Prime Minister Putin since they took up their new positions last week.

Tensions are high in Georgia's breakaway Abkhazia region as all parties accuse one another of provocations that could lead to war across the volatile Caucasus Mountains.

Palestinians protested across the occupied territories on the 60th anniversary of the "catastrophe" of the birth of Israel today as the Jewish state's army went on high alert.
The commemoration of the Naqba, or "catastrophe" -- the defeat of invading Arab armies and the expulsion or flight of about 760,000 people -- came as President Bush was to mark the creation of the Jewish state with an address to the Israeli parliament.

President Bush arrived in Israel yesterday for the first leg of his five-day tour of the Middle East. There can be no doubt that powerful forces within the Bush administration and the US political and military establishment will press for an escalation of military violence in reaction to the setbacks for US policy in the region, including an intensification of the bloodletting in Iraq and the use of military force against Iran or Syria.

A group of Democratic senators wants to make a massive arms sale to Saudi Arabia contingent on getting cheaper oil.

President Ahmadinejad rejected accusations his country was interfering in Lebanon. "Iran is the only country not interfering in Lebanon." Saudi Arabia had earlier blamed Iran for Hezbollah's routing of the Western-backed government's supporters in Lebanon and said the violence would affect Iran's ties with Arab countries.

Iran presented Wednesday proposals to tackle "global challenges" in a bid to seize the diplomatic initiative.

Iran's intelligence minister said those behind a bomb blast in a mosque that killed 14 people last month also planned to target a Russian consulate in the Islamic state. President Ahmadinejad accused the US, Israel and Britain of being responsible for the blast.

The government of Prime Minister al-Maliki refused to endorse US charges of Iranian involvement in arms smuggling to the Mahdi Army, and a plan to show off a huge collection of Iranian arms captured in and around Karbala had to be called off after it was discovered that none of the arms were of Iranian origin.

The Iranians have already achieved political victory in Iraq. All they want now is to create long-lasting stability. The last thing the Iranians would do is create a new "Viet Cong" to undermine the government of Iraq.
Thus, if one accepts the premise of the US that it is Iran which is responsible for funding and training forces hostile to the government of Iraq, then one would have to accept the notion that Iran is at war with…Iran. This is, frankly speaking, absurd in the extreme. The Iranians, far from being the instigators of violence in Iraq, play the role of peacemaker.
These illusory "sanctuaries" are but a myth propagated by those elements within the Bush administration, namely the Office of the Vice President, which are desirous of seeing American policy toward Iran shaped by the reality of war, no matter how artificially and fraudulently justified.

We are at the crossroads of the most serious crisis in modern history
In practice, Vice President Cheney, supported by an army of senior officials and loyal advisers, controls the White House. At the same time, Cheney is part of a powerful corporate apparatus, through his links to Halliburton and the role Halliburton has played in defining a profit-driven military agenda.
Cheney has personally played a key roie in activating war plans directed against Iran. He is the de facto Head of State, he overshadows President Bush, who is mere figurehead. More recently, he has played a key role in pressuring the frontline Arab states into supporting a preemptive attack on Iran.

This article contains several forecasts, including the possible start of a major war with unforeseeable consequences, if the US should happen to attack Iran.
The world's financial elite, long having made their homes in the metropolises of Western Europe, also with a major branch in New York City, may be the party that is really behind what could be an attempt to start WW3 by pitting the US against the Asiatic land powers, most notably Russia.
The elite have long viewed control of the vast resource-rich Asian continent as the key to control of the world, with the fulcrum of domination being the oil-rich Middle East.
The fact is that the US economy is controlled by international finance, not by the US business establishment or by our own political system. So the US cannot change anything, especially in taking effective and rational measures to get the nation out of debt. Similarly in the area of foreign and military affairs, the nation appears unable to backtrack from its march to catastrophe.

This somehow slipped past me in '05...
The McCurtain Daily Gazette has obtained US Secret Service (USSS) documents revealing for the first time references to the use of a top-secret military satellite by federal investigators in the days after the Oklahoma City bombing.
At the time this satellite was used to monitor events at Elohim City, the paramilitary trainer of the camp was German-national Andreas Carl Strassmeir. Other documents obtained from the FBI indicate informants working for the Southern Poverty Law Center had also been monitoring events at the right-wing camp prior to the bombing.
America's spy-satellite program is jointly under the control of the CIA and the Department of Defense. An FBI agent familiar with the OKBOMB investigation called evidence that a spy satellite was used to monitor events at Elohim City, "Staggering!"
Three experts contacted for this story agree that only under the most unusual circumstances in the nation's history has an American spy satellite been used to gather domestic intelligence. The domestic use of a military satellite for domestic spying is a violation of DoD and CIA regulations regarding the proper use of top-secret national security satellites.

Poison from the top down, Fed is wrong to signal end of crisis, more negative surprises in the markets to come, Mortgage market upside down, major conflicts always a threat...

The 15-nation euro rose against the US dollar today as gross domestic product in Germany, Europe's largest economy, grew unexpectedly strongly.

The secret weekend purchase of Bear Stearns with a Federal Reserve loan was precipitated by a run on Bear's stock allegedly triggered by rumors of its insolvency.
The "rescuer" was not actually JPMorgan but was the Federal Reserve, the "bankers' bank" set up by J. Pierpont Morgan to backstop bank runs; and the party "rescued" was not Bear Stearns, which wound up being eaten alive.
The Federal Reserve lent $25 billion to Bear Stearns and another $30 billion to JPMorgan, a total of $55 billion that all found its way into JPMorgan's coffers. It was a very good deal for JPMorgan and a very bad deal for Bear's shareholders.
The Bear Stearns collapse was artificially created to allow JPMorgan to be paid $55 billion of taxpayer money to cover its own insolvency and acquire its rival Bear Stearns, while at the same time allowing insiders to take large "short" positions in Bear Stearns stock and collect massive profits.

Globalists hell-bent on reducing the living standards of westerners by jacking up oil prices to a whopping $200 dollars a barrel took a step closer to their target yesterday after JPMorgan Chase & Co announced that they will begin trading oil by the end of the year.

Venezuelan President Chavez, whose country is the biggest oil exporter in the Americas, said crude oil would rise to "$400 or $500 a barrel" in the case of a US attack. The reactivation of the US 4th Fleet in the Caribbean on July 1 and a possible US base on the Guajira Peninsula, which Venezuela shares with Colombia, are both threats to his country, he said.

Oil prices surged nearly $2 a barrel to $126.09 today as the dollar fell against the euro and investors anticipated strong demand for diesel fuel in parts of China ravaged by Monday's earthquake.

While millions of people around the world face severe hunger, the handful of agribusiness corporations that dominate the global agricultural market are seeing huge profits. One of the key players in the global food market, Cargill, is profiled in a new report released today by the national consumer group Food & Water Watch.
The report, entitled Cargill: A Corporate Threat to Food and Farming, details Cargill's vast influence over international trade and how the company threatens consumers, family farmers, workers, the environment, and even entire economies around the world.

The American economy seems to be going from bubble to bubble: in 2000, it was the tech bubble; in 2005, it was the housing bubble; and now, it is the oil and commodities bubble. In fact, the entire world of investment is now a giant casino where speculators are in charge and where governments look the other way.
