[WAR: Speakin' of troop deployment ... I saw a very interesting sight last night after dinner: 2 Army humvees packed with soldiers (including one on the 50-caliber on top), which were followed by a white van also packed with soldiers, pulling into little ol' Sunsites (AZ).
You talk about a lump-in-the-throat! My first thought was that it was part of that Tucson international rescue training mentioned in the WAR a couple of weeks ago. But since that was an Air Force op, and this was Army I was seeing, I then thought: "Oh no, has something happened? Is 'it' starting already?"
My dad drove up and said hello and asked them if they were doing some training. The driver (2nd Battalion airborne special ops) replied with a sort of reluctant/hesitant: "Yeh."
He also said that there was going to be some air traffic later on.
But the only thing we heard/saw (from 10 miles away) was a helicopter between our place and the Dragoon mountains (about 1 mile). We heard it, but couldn't see the darn thing! There were no lights, and we couldn't even see the silhouette.]
